LG's Latest Gram features OLED Screens and AI Boost Technology

In anticipation of CES 2024, LG is unveiling a fresh lineup of laptops within its ultra-light LG Gram and LG Gram Pro series. If you're on the lookout for top-notch OLED displays and superior graphics, the spotlight falls on the 2024 LG Gram Pro series. Contrasting with last year's models, where our review emphasized that the primary divergence between the Pro and standard laptops was more pronounced in the graphics department rather than the overall aesthetics.

For those seeking a more visibly distinctive option, attention is directed towards the LG Gram Style, a more fashion-forward counterpart. In the upcoming year, the Gram Pro series introduces the Gram Pro 16 and 17, along with the LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 – details about the latter will be elucidated shortly. The Gram Pro 16 is available in both the standard Wide Quad configuration and an OLED display variant, mirroring the 2-in-1 model. This multifaceted 2-in-1 functions seamlessly as both a laptop and a tablet, boasting a touchscreen, a 360-degree adjustable hinge, and the convenience of a chargeable wireless pen, adding an extra layer of versatility to the user experience.

Across the board, these models are equipped with NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSDs, a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card, and an FHD webcam incorporating facial recognition technology. Similar to the LG Gram series, users can opt for either Intel Core Ultra 5 or Intel Core Ultra 7 processors for the LG Gram Pro models. Within the Pro lineup, these processors are enhanced with Intel's AI Boost NPU hardware, designed to accelerate AI tasks processed locally on the device.

The standard LG Gram series offers a diverse range with four screen sizes (14, 15, 16, and 17-inch), all featuring Intel Core Ultra processors. Boasting built-in Full-HD cameras, the smaller variants prove particularly handy for impromptu Zoom calls during work-related travels. Remarkably, even the larger models weigh less than a pair of lightweight dumbbells, with the full lineup ranging from 2.42 to 2.98 pounds. The two largest models feature a 2,560 × 1,600 display, rendering them ideal for activities such as video consumption, extended internet reading, or photo editing.

Adding to the appeal, all the new LG Gram models come equipped with the LG Gram Link app. This feature facilitates seamless file sharing, photo transfers, and screen mirroring between your laptop and Android or iOS devices. Leveraging AI capabilities, the app enhances photo organization, streamlining image searches through the incorporation of keywords for a more efficient and user-friendly experience.
